I was talking to a friend yesterday and she asked me if I ever played, “If I win the lottery…?
Of course I do! My sister and I play it each time we get together. Of course, our big plan is to spend the month of May at Disney World walking and sweating and just generally cleansing our minds and bodies after 20 some years of kids and husbands. Not that we don’t love them, we just need a little vacay after all this time. One that doesn’t include meals, laundry, clean up…because going on a vacation with your family is NOT really a vacation-for-mom kind of thing.
I didn’t win the lottery, but I did find this old wooden puzzle. A couple of these sold on eBay for enough to fund that vacation. Here’s mine:
It has a copyright date!
Is that 1912?
Do I have a bona fide antique?
The artist is Joseph Warren. The original oil painting called “Woman in red with collie dog” sold for almost $1,400 in 2002. I couldn’t find out when it was painted.
It is 3/8ths inch thick wood.
Is it rare?
For me, is it Disney or dinner?
Will I win the puzzle lottery?
